Spread Dog on iPhone
On the App Store. Free, like the rest of the game.
Spread Dog started as an iMessage app, and that is still where it is at its best: the board lives in the Messages drawer, so you make your lock right where the trash talk happens and it lands in the chat as a bubble the whole league sees. The same install puts a home-screen app next to it, for the board, the standings and your profile.
Get it on the App StoreGet it on your iPhone
1. Tap the button above, or search Spread Dog on the App Store, and install it.
2. Open it from your home screen. The first screen asks for a code: the join code a friend sent you, or your recovery code if you already play.
3. Open Messages, pick the group chat, and find Spread Dog in the app drawer next to the text field. It is already signed in.
Got an invite link? Tap it on your iPhone with the app installed and it opens straight to the join screen. Without the app it opens a page with the same code printed on it, so you can install first and enter the code after.
Your codes, explained
A league join code (it looks like AB2C-D3EF) is how you get into a league. Someone in it texts it to you. Enter it in the app’s first screen, or at spread.dog/play, to create your account and pick your name. Either door makes the same account.
Your recovery code is shown once when your account is created. It’s how you sign in on any other device, phone or web, so save it. You can mint a fresh one any time from your Profile.
An enrollment code is the original name for the same thing: a code that signs you in. If you were handed one, it works in the same box.
So the short version: join with the join code wherever you are, keep the recovery code it gives you, and enter that recovery code on any second device.
One account, every surface
The web board, the iPhone app and the Messages drawer are the same league and the same account. A lock made from the group chat shows up on the web instantly, and the other way round. Signing out of one doesn’t sign out the others.
If the drawer misbehaves
spread.dog/play is the same board with the same deadline. Sign in with your recovery code and your lock counts all the same. Still stuck? Support can help.
